This is a work of fiction, and I wish everything was fictional in it... Once upon a time there was a land where corruption among the nation's political leaders reflected in dismay and desolation for the people.
As a growing government thrived in overreach and overindulgence, the masses that actually worked for a living found themselves hostage to despotic leaders seeking to undermine civil freedoms. Meanwhile, sycophant legislators enriched themselves illicitly at the expense of the suffering of the people. Laws got enacted to protect them from us had little to do with democracy and the needs of the people, in a disconnect between the aims of political circles and the realities of the general gender.
If this all sounds a little too familiar to you, believe me, it's a mere coincidence. "THE NGO" is a work of fiction that explores, in an allegorical way, the issues of authoritarianism, corruption and impunity in the contemporary political scenario. What part do we play in such a scenario?
